SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Police are looking for suspects in the theft of two historical bronze plaques from a Salt Lake City park.
Investigators say the plaques were removed from a monument at Warm Springs Park sometime between Thursday and Friday afternoons.
One of the plaques describes how Mormon pioneers erected a bath house at the site of the springs.
Police say the monument was damaged when the plaques were removed, and the park has been home to the plaques for some 50 years.
Detectives are seeking the public’s immediate help, saying they fear the plaques will be melted down for money.
