STERLING, Colo. (AP) - Logan County commissioners are being asked to consider creating a noise ordinance for the county backed by fines.

According to the Journal-Advocate (https://tinyurl.com/kcpesya ), Logan County Sheriff Brett Powell says municipalities have a disturbing the peace charge and the county also needs one.

Undersheriff Alan Pierce says deputies tell people who complain that the sheriff’s office can go serve a complaint, but when it goes to court the judge can say there’s no ordinance for disturbing the peace, so charges can’t be brought.
