SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) - Police say a 49-year-old man has died and two people are injured after flames engulfed a home on the north side of Syracuse.

The fire broke out around 2:45 p.m. Saturday on Court Street in Syracuse. Police say three of the 12 people in the multiple family two-story house were taken to Upstate University Hospital. One of them, a man who had been found unconscious on the second floor, was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The other two people, a 51-year-old woman and a 54-year-old man, are expected to survive.

Names of the victims haven’t been released.

Police say the fire started on the first floor, but the cause is still under investigation.
