SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) - Sunny skies attracted a crowd of people to participate in Spokane’s 39th annual Bloomsday run.

The Spokesman-Review reports (https://is.gd/TP0FKI ) nearly 45,000 preregistered for the event and they were expecting more than a thousand to show up on Sunday to register.

Cynthia Limo won the elite women’s division.

Kenya’s Lani Kiplagat Rutto won the men’s elite division.

Luke Puskedra, of Eugene, Oregon, earned the $5,400 prize for finishing as the top American in the race. He finished 12th overall.

Jonathan Lafler of Seattle finished in first place among Washington runners.
