PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - The Oregon Liquor Control Commission has selected 15 Oregonians to help develop rules for the state’s regulated recreational marijuana industry.
The Oregonian reports (https://bit.ly/1R7zL5j ) the advisory committee will be chaired by Chris Lyons, a Gresham resident and former executive director of the Oregon Lottery. The committee includes growers, dispensary owners, a county health officer, police and other public officials.
In addition, the agency also appointed members to two other permanent subcommittees that will deal with technical issues. One will focus on licensing, compliance and law enforcement. The other will provide advice on tracking marijuana from seed to sale as well as marijuana testing labs.
The liquor control commission also plans to establish subcommittees to advise the agency on rules for marijuana production, processing, retail sales, advertising and labeling and banking.
