BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Two Jefferson County revenue clerks have pleaded guilty to ethics charges after accepting payments to allow people to cut in long vehicle tag renewal lines.

Al.com reports (https://bit.ly/1zILEcv ) 33-year-old Jozette Patrece Berry pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of unintentional ethics violation and was sentenced to two years of unsupervised probation.

Lashonda Smaw, 41, also pleaded guilty to using her position for personal gain. In an unrelated case, she also pleaded guilty to making a false statement on an application for an automotive title.

A third clerk, Alisha Cole, has already pleaded guilty in the case and was sentenced to probation.
