MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - Vermont had its strongest month ever in April for receipt of personal income tax revenues, coming in more than 7 percent - or $14 million - above projections for the month.
With two months to go in the fiscal year, Vermont is running about two and a quarter percent above its year-to-date target.
Secretary of Administration Justin Johnson says the numbers are a sign of a strengthening economy in Vermont.
Vermont’s sales and use tax and its rooms and meals levy also came in ahead of target.
The state transportation fund’s revenue sources also performed slightly ahead of target, while the education fund lagged its projection slightly.
