FAIRBANKS, Alaska (AP) - State troopers are investigating a report of human remains found in the Chena River State Recreation Area.

The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reports (https://bit.ly/1Iawb7K ) that trooper spokesman Tim Despain says boaters reported finding human remains while in the area Saturday evening.

Despain says troopers couldn’t immediately get to the site because of its remoteness, but responded Sunday afternoon with a Robinson 44 helicopter.

He says no further information is available yet.
