HELENA, Mont. (AP) - Firefighters from multiple agencies have contained wildfires on 50-70 acres of land about 15 miles northwest of Helena.
The Helena Independent Record reports (https://bit.ly/1IHef3G ) that Lewis and Clark County Sheriff’s Sgt. Brett Friede said Monday afternoon that fires started near a stretch of railroad tracks had been contained. No one was evacuated.
The fires started along two to three miles of railroad tracks near Skelly Gulch and the town of Austin. Remaining smoke in the area is from smoldering logs, officials said. The cause is under investigation.
