PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - Police in Portland say investigators are looking into the possibility that a woman found dead after her vehicle plunged into the Columbia River may have driven into the water intentionally.
Divers recovered the 49-year-old woman’s body Monday, as well as the pickup truck she had been driving. Police say they have learned she had a history of mental health issues, including previous attempts to end her life.
Officers responded Monday morning to reports of a vehicle that had driven off Marine Drive into the river.
