NEW BEAVER, Pa. (AP) - Police say a family of six escaped moments before a freight train slammed their car in western Pennsylvania.

The Norfolk Southern train hit the car around 12 a.m. Sunday in New Beaver, about 40 miles northwest of Pittsburgh.

Police say the car had become stuck on the tracks. One person was hospitalized with minor injuries.
