JOHNSON, Vt. (AP) - Authorities believe a driver’s use of a hand-held cellphone played a factor in a collision between a car and a milk truck that resulted in a fire in Johnson, Vermont.

The Lamoille County Sheriff’s Department says 22-year-old Kelsi Sharron of Stowe was traveling west on Route 15 and looked down at her phone. The car crossed the centerline and collided with a tractor trailer unit hauling milk that caught on fire Sunday afternoon.

The department says the milk truck driver, 32-year-old Michelle Pike of Cabot, was able to escape, but suffered second-degree burns. She was treated at a hospital and released.

Sharon was hospitalized in stable condition.
