GREENSBURG, Pa. (AP) - Authorities say a man has been charged in the death of his sister’s boyfriend, whose body was found at a gas well site in western Pennsylvania.
Forty-nine-year-old Billy Ray Boggs Jr. of Belle Vernon was charged Monday in Westmoreland County with criminal homicide and abuse of a corpse in the death of 35-year-old Thomas Guercio of Manor.
Police said Guercio was last seen March 23 and reported missing several days later by the defendant’s sister.
Prosecutors allege that Boggs hit the victim in the head with a hammer and later stabbed him in the chest, then dumped the body in Armstrong County.
Investigators found a garbage bag containing bloody clothes, and the body was found Friday.
Court documents don’t list a defense attorney that could offer comment on the charges.
