NASHUA, N.H. (AP) - A New Hampshire woman has been accused of leaving her 21-month-old child in the care of a man who died of an apparent drug overdose.
Police said the 50-year-old man was with two others in the Nashua apartment of 27-year-old Samantha Perkins last month, consuming heroin or fentanyl. Perkins left her child with them and drove her 6- and 7-year-old daughters elsewhere.
Police said when she returned, the man was moved out of the apartment and left at the bottom of the stairs of the building.
Perkins was charged Friday with three counts of endangering the welfare of a child and a drug charge. She was released on $10,000 bond and is scheduled for arraignment on June 8. A message seeking comment was left at a phone number listed for her.
