NEW YORK (AP) - A Jamaican citizen who arrived at John F. Kennedy International Airport is facing federal drug smuggling charges. Authorities say officers found about a pound of cocaine - in his underwear.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers say the man came in on a flight from Kingston on April 19. Authorities say inspectors searched his suitcase and then him after he appeared nervous.

They found two packages in his underwear, containing a substance that turned out to be cocaine. The packages had an estimated street value of $19,000.
