MCKEES ROCKS, Pa. (AP) - Police have filed child endangerment charges against a western Pennsylvania couple following the death of their 3-month-old son.
Melinda Giconi and Thomas Reiber were each charged Sunday with three counts of endangering the welfare of children.
Two other children were also in the home.
Online court records didn’t list lawyers to comment on their charges. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 12.
Sgt. Scott Scherer says the children were found unattended with clothes piled throughout the home. Cigarette butts and food were also scattered about.
The 30-year-old Giconi and 36-year-old Reiber could face other charges once the child’s autopsy results are completed.
Police say county social workers had been involved with the family recently.
