BETHPAGE, N.Y. (AP) - A Long Island man is in custody after police say he was driving drunk when he hit a man pushing his 2-year-old grandson in a stroller.
Authorities say 56-year-old Anthony Valenti is charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and assault.
They say Valenti was driving his 2013 Nissan Murano in Bethpage on Saturday when he struck the two victims as he made a left turn.
The stroller got stuck under the vehicle and was dragged for about a block. Both the child and the 69-year-old grandfather suffered minor injuries.
It’s unclear if Valenti has an attorney who could comment on the charges.
