SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) - A Spokane County sheriff’s spokesman says an inmate has been found dead in his county jail cell with a sheet around his neck.
Deputy Mark Gregory said the inmate found dead Monday afternoon was housed alone in the cell.
Sheriff’s detectives are investigating the death.
Gregory said the inmate’s name would be released by the county medical examiner’s office.
Details on why he was in jail were not immediately available.
