BOSTON (AP) - Two suspects charged in connection with the shooting of a man shoveling snow as part of a work crew in Boston in February have been held without bail after pleading not guilty.

Donte Henley and Josiah Zachery were arraigned Monday in connection with the Feb. 11 shooting of Kenneth Lamour.

Lamour and Henley were part of a snow-shoveling crew organized by an organization that works with at-risk youth. Prosecutors say they were members of rival gangs.

Prosecutors Zachery and Henley exchanged a series of text messages shortly before the shooting, and while Zachery pulled the trigger, Henley ordered the hit.

Zachery is also charged with shooting at a police officer who gave chase after Lamour’s slaying.

Lawyers for the suspects have said their clients had nothing to do with Lamour’s shooting.
