TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - After taking two weeks off the New Jersey town hall circuit, Gov. Chris Christie is heading to Sussex County to host one next Thursday.

Christie will hold his 137th town hall in Sparta to continue promoting his budget and pension reform initiatives he says are needed.

The governor had promised to hold a town hall weekly through June, but didn’t host one in the state last week and won’t this week either.

He is holding a town hall this Friday, but it will be held at a bar in New Hampshire. Christie is preparing for a likely 2016 presidential run.

Christie is also expected to host a town hall in Iowa next month.

Anyone interested in attending the event at the Sussex County Technical School can RSVP at Townhall.Sparta@nj.gov.
