ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - A body believed to be that of an Akiak (AK’-ee-ak) woman missing since December on an all-terrain vehicle trip has been recovered from the Kuskokwim River.

Alaska State Troopers say the body found Sunday may be the remains of 27-year-old Sally Stone.

Stone on Dec. 11 was one of three people who left Bethel on a four-wheeler and headed to Akiak. The three were last seen that night in Kwethluk.

Searchers Dec. 13 found the ATV in an open lead of the Kuskokwim.

A day later, searchers recovered the body of Ralph Demantle, one of the others on the four-wheeler.

The body of 26-year-old George Evan was found in January.

Troopers say the remains Sunday were found near the original search site.

The state medical examiner will conduct an autopsy.
