MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) - There has been a delay in construction on a new oceanfront hotel tower in Myrtle Beach.

The Sun News of Myrtle beach reports (https://bit.ly/1F3CJVgs ) that construction is now set to begin this fall on the Homewood Suites Oceanfront Resort & Conference Center.

The Homewood Suites is one of the first two oceanfront towers approved for the beachfront since construction came to an abrupt stop during the Great Recession.

Scheduling conflicts had pushed the start date from late last year to this summer. But the developers don’t want to start construction during the height of the tourist season and will now wait until October.

The other project, the 24-story Hilton Grand Vacations Club timeshare tower, is scheduled to open this summer.
