CRAIG, Colo. (AP) - A 20-year-old Craig man is facing a vehicular homicide charge after his father was thrown from his car in a suspected DUI crash.
The Colorado State Patrol says alcohol and speeding are being investigated as contributing factors in the crash that killed 52-year-old Dennis Otis Sunday evening near Craig.
Logan Otis was wearing seat belt and wasn’t injured after his 2002 Ford Focus sedan went off the road and began rolling. The patrol says he was arrested for vehicular homicide.
His mother, Wendy Otis, told the Craig Daily Press (https://bit.ly/1QiQktF ) that she hopes the crash sends a message to young people in the area about the dangers of drinking. She says she will support her son and says she hopes people will understand that this is a “young person’s mistake.”
