ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) - The Coast Guard and local agencies are searching for a parasailor a witness saw disappear into the waters off Florida’s Redington Beach.

WTSP-TV (https://on.wtsp.com/1ABbEl3 ) reports a bystander along the beach west of St. Petersburg saw a person gliding with a motorized parasail hit the water, bob for 10 minutes and then go under Monday evening. Coast Guard crews from Clearwater, Sand Key, the Cutter Alligator and authorities from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office and marine units are searching the area.

The sheriff’s office plans to conduct solar searches in the morning.

There have been no reports of a missing person in the area.
