DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) - A 28-year-old central Florida woman died in her jail cell after being arrested during a prostitution sting.

Volusia County Sheriff’s officials say they’re waiting for toxicology results to determine what caused April Brogan’s death on May 1.

But family members tell The Daytona Beach News-Journal (https://bit.ly/1bugDNN ) they believe Brogan didn’t get the care she needed as a known drug addict. A Volusia County official says they are reviewing the incident but believe that proper protocols were followed.

Brogan was arrested April 29 and charged with aiding/abetting/committing prostitution.

Reports indicate a cellmate told investigators Brogan complained of being “dope sick.” Two days later, she started vomiting and foaming at the mouth.

Mary Killgore of Rockledge says her niece should have been taken to a detox center because of her drug problem.
