ATLANTA (AP) - Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz is slated to be the keynote speaker for a dinner at the Georgia Republican Party’s state convention this month.

The state party announced Tuesday that Cruz, a Texas senator, will address the convention’s dinner event on May 15.

Cruz joins two previously announced convention speakers: presidential candidate and Florida senator Marco Rubio and potential candidate and New Jersey governor Chris Christie.

Cruz is one of three Republican senators to formally enter the presidential race, along with several other candidates.

Attendees also will elect state party leaders and consider resolutions during the two-day convention in Athens.
