PORTLAND, Maine (AP) - The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Children and Families will award grants totaling $860,722 to help Maine domestic violence victims.
Federal Family and Youth Services Bureau Associate Commissioner William H. Bentley says the administration will partner with communities to “support services addressing the traumatic impact of domestic violence.” He says the money could help groups such as domestic violence coalitions and programs, American Indian tribes and community-based organization.
The money is part of more than $100 million in federal money awarded to states and coalitions to combat domestic violence.
