ASHEVILLE, N.C. (AP) - Officials in Buncombe County say a Weaverville man has pleaded guilty to murder in the deaths of two people and will spend the rest of his life in prison.

The Asheville Citizen-Times reports (https://avlne.ws/1KKfX3o) 20-year-old Kevin Levi Davis pleaded guilty to two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, burglary, arson and larceny of a motor vehicle. He admitted killing 63-year-old Sandra Ratcliff Thomas and 55-year-old Clifford Joseph Dembinski in June 2013.

The victims died after being stabbed at Thomas’ home in Candler. Warrants say Thomas also was beaten in the head with a blunt object.

Prosecutors said the stabbings happened as Davis was robbing the victims, who were friends and neighbors. Thomas’ home was also set on fire,

Davis entered his plea on Monday.
