OGDEN, N.C. (AP) - Authorities say an Ogden man was shot and killed in his home by two gunmen who entered through a kitchen window.
Multiple news outlets report that New Hanover County sheriff’s deputies found 32-year-old Yancey Martin Edwards dead at the scene Monday.
New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Lt. Jerry Brewer says Edwards, Joshua Roydes and Hannah Gastwirth were inside the home when the intruders entered through an unlocked window and demanded money and drugs.
Brewer says Roydes and Edwards were fighting with the intruders when both men were shot. Roydes was shot in the arm and Edwards was hit in the chest. Two dogs were also shot, one fatally. Gastwirth was unharmend.
A description of the gunmen was not released.
