WASHINGTON (AP) - Metro says weekend work will affect the orange, blue, yellow and green lines, but the system will open early Saturday for those traveling to the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.

Metro says that the orange, blue and yellow lines will operate every 18 minutes with yellow line trains operating between Huntington and Mt. Vernon Square only. Metro says green line trains will operate between the College Park and Branch Avenue stations. The Greenbelt station will be closed, and free shuttle buses will replace trains to and from the station.

On Saturday, the system will open at 5 a.m. for those traveling to the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.

Metro says there will be regular weekend service on the red and silver lines.
