WOODBRIDGE, Va. (AP) - A Virginia mom says she’s worried about sending her 7th grade daughter back to school after a violent attack.

Sarah Sackett, the girl’s mother, told WRC-TV (https://bit.ly/1ETONGz ) the Lake Ridge Middle School student was attacked by three girls last week only a block from the school in Woodbridge.

The victim’s friends called police and the attackers fled. Sackett says other students knew there would be a fight and captured the attack on cellphone videos. Sackett’s daughter is now in a neck brace.

Sackett says she told school staffers her daughter was being threatened on social media weeks ago. She hasn’t sent her daughter back to school out of concerns the situation hasn’t been handled.

A school spokesman says he can’t discuss the case.
