MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - A man who police say took Elton John’s heart-shaped glasses from a museum display in Memphis has been indicted on a felony theft charge.
Shelby County District Attorney General Amy Weirich’s office said Monday that 26-year-old Matthew Colvin of Cordova is charged with theft of property over $1,000.
The glasses were reported stolen April 21 from the Rock ’n’ Soul Museum on Beale Street. The museum has said Colvin visited on April 21 but isn’t connected to it or any employees.
Colvin was being held in the Shelby County jail on $25,000 bond after being transferred to Tennessee from DeSoto County, Mississippi.
Flamboyant glasses and outfits have been part of Elton John’s signature look.

BOSTON (AP) - A Tennessee woman searching for the stranger she kissed while running the Boston Marathon this year says she finally heard back - from the mystery man’s wife.
Barbara Tatge says her daughter had dared her to kiss a random, good-looking man as she ran through the town of Wellesley, where the women of Wellesley College traditionally offer kisses to runners.
After the April 20 race, her daughter took to social media to try to find the man, who clearly left an impression on her mom.
Tatge says The Wellesley Townsman, a Boston-area news outlet, passed on a letter addressed to her Sunday after the campaign generated nationwide attention.
The unidentified man’s wife said the attention was fun but that the couple wanted to remain anonymous.
“When this story aired on the news we were pretty surprised,” the mystery man’s wife wrote in a portion of the letter quoted by The Townsman. “For me, I’m not mad. Believe me, our friends have gotten a lot of mileage out of this story and I have thoroughly enjoyed watching them give my husband grief!”

TULSA, Okla. (AP) - A Tennessee-based agricultural company has been fined $225,000 for the alleged improper disposal of a restricted pesticide in northeastern Oklahoma.
U.S. Attorney Danny Williams of Tulsa says Helena Chemical Co. entered a guilty plea Monday for unlawfully disposing the restricted pesticide at its facility in Welch in Craig County.
The plea agreement says that for at least six months beginning in May 2013, Helena disposed of unused pesticide by discharging it onto the ground and allowing it to run onto an adjacent property and into the Little Cabin Creek.
If exposed to the pesticide’s active ingredients, a person could experience difficulty breathing, weakness, irritation of the eyes, and suffer from liver damage.
A spokeswoman for the Collierville, Tennessee-based company, Vickie Smith, did not immediately return a telephone call seeking comment.
