OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Oklahoma City leaders have endorsed a plan to allow a zip line and other entertainment along an area lake despite concerns from some homeowners.

KFOR-TV (https://bit.ly/1EOq994 ) reports the City Council on Tuesday unanimously approved a rezoning request for improvements along Lake Overholser. The change allows the OKC Boathouse Foundation to continue a $1 million investment into the development.

The area nonprofit plans to construct a zip line, giant swing and renovated boathouse on the east side of the lake.

Some residents who live nearby spoke out against the plan, saying they don’t want a large playground near their back yards.
