ORLAND, Ind. (AP) - A 59-year-old northeastern Indiana man has been hospitalized after his motorized paraglider crashed into trees.

Authorities say the craft being flown by Delbert Martin of Orland crashed into a wooded area east of that town about 8:30 p.m. Monday.

Rescue units with the Orland Volunteer Fire Department located the paraglider in a tree line and treated Martin at the scene before he was airlifted to a Fort Wayne hospital. The extent of Martin’s injuries wasn’t clear Tuesday.

The cause of the crash about 45 miles north of Fort Wayne is under investigation.
