ST. MARYS, Pa. (AP) - A central Pennsylvania airport official says a pilotless small plane crashed into the facility’s administration building on Sunday.

St. Marys Municipal Airport Manager Alan McPherson says the pilot couldn’t start the Cessna 182, so he hopped outside the plane to spin the propeller manually to jumpstart the aircraft.

But the engine started while the pilot was doing that and moved forward, smashing into the building, with the propeller going through a window.

Nobody in the building was hurt - though some folks hosting a First Communion party in an upstairs restaurant were startled.

The pilot from Ulysses, Potter County, was hurt when he tried to hop back into the plane and fell. A female passenger inside wasn’t hurt.

Officials haven’t release the name of the pilot.

The Federal Aviation Administration was investigating.
