ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - Police officers from around New York state are remembering their fallen comrades.

Officers will gather at a church in Albany on Tuesday morning for an annual memorial mass for those lost in the past year. Officers will then march to the site of the state’s Police Officers Memorial near the Capitol at the Empire State Plaza.

The annual remembrance comes a day after a 25-year-old New York City police officer shot in the head over the weekend died from his injuries. Brian Moore had been in a coma since undergoing brain surgery following the Saturday shooting. He is the third New York City officer slain on duty in five months.
