BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Louisiana State Police say authorities have found a missing toddler after the child’s mother was found dead in a vehicle from a gunshot wound.
State police say 2-year-old A’Kyleana Louise Latham was found Tuesday afternoon in the Baton Rouge area. The Advocate (https://bit.ly/1Ib1YE3 ) reports the child had not been seen since Saturday.
Police found the body of the toddler’s mother, 24-year-old Taylor Lathan, Monday evening and believe the shooting occurred Saturday night.
Police say the mother and toddler are believed to have moved from Texas a few months ago.
The Baton Rouge Police investigation into the murder is ongoing.
