Pulaski officer fatally shoots suspect at storage facility

PULASKI, Va. (AP) - Pulaski police say a suspect shot by a town police officer has died.

Police tell media outlets that the shooting occurred at 12:55 a.m. Tuesday at Pulaski Self Storage.

The suspect was taken to LewisGale Hospital, where he later died.

Police say the man was armed and fired one shot. The officer wasn’t injured.

Virginia State Police are investigating the shooting.

State police special agent Brad Burnett tells WSLS-TV (https://bit.ly/1GWX6AW ) that the office found a suspicious vehicle on the property while doing a routine business check.

The suspect and the officer haven’t been identified. Burnett says the suspect was a white man in his 40s.
