AUBURN, Ala. (AP) - A Tuskegee professor has won a prestigious award for his works in agricultural studies.
The Opelika-Auburn Times (https://bit.ly/1KbvTe3 ) reports Dr. C.S. Prakash recently received the Borlaug Communication Award from the Council for Agricultural Science and Technology. The award honors outstanding achievement by a scientist, engineer, technologist or other professional working in the agricultural, environmental, or food sectors for contributing to the advancement of science in the public policy arena.
A biography on the Tuskegee website says Prakash has worked with the school since 1989. He oversees genetic improvement research on food crops of importance to developing countries, along with training dozens of scientists and students.
CAST says Prakash has given more than 500 lectures in 80 countries about the technical and societal issues of agricultural biotechnology.
