WEIRTON, W.Va. (AP) - A task force on substance abuse ordered up by Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin is slated to meet in Weirton.

On Tuesday at 6 p.m., one of the Governor’s Regional Substance Abuse Task Forces will gather at the Weirton Area Medical Center.

State officials are asking residents in Hancock, Brooke, Ohio, Marshall and Wetzel counties to participate.

The meeting will focus on treatments and best practices for the opioid epidemic in West Virginia.

The session will explain abstinence and medication-assisted treatment options.
