Conservative blogger and anti-jihad activist Pamela Geller has been publicly targeted by name for assassination by Islamic State-allied terrorists, according to the New York Police Department.

Ms. Geller’s New York-based American Freedom Defense Initiative hosted the draw-Muhammad contest in Texas that two gun-wielding American Muslims tried to attack Sunday.

NYPD spokesman Stephen Davis told reporters Wednesday that the threat was made on a site with ties to the Islamic State. He provided no other details.

He said counterterrorism and intelligence officials met with Ms. Geller, who is Jewish, on Wednesday but were still doing a “comprehensive threat assessment” to determine whether the threat was sufficiently credible to warrant unspecified extra security for her.
