SYDNEY (AP) - The Western Sydney Wanderers moved into third place in Australia’s A-League by beating Melbourne City 3-0 on Friday.

After a scoreless first half in Melbourne, Mitch Nichols scored in the 47th minute, followed by goals by Federico Piovaccari in the 61st and Mark Bridge in the 84th.

Earlier Friday, Roly Bonevacia scored two goals to lead the fourth-place Wellington Phoenix to a 4-2 win over Adelaide United in the New Zealand capital. Adelaide remains winless.

First-place Sydney FC plays Melbourne Victory, a reply of last year’s grand final won by the Victory, in one of two matches Saturday. Newcastle hosts Central Coast in the other match.

Second-place Brisbane is home against Perth on Sunday.
