CARY, N.C. (AP) - A sitting Supreme Court justice and current and former state legislators have been honored at the North Carolina Republican Party’s annual fall dinner event.

Associate Justice Bob Edmunds, former House and Senate member Debbie Clary and current Rep. Justin Burr were inducted into the state GOP Hall of Fame during a celebration over the weekend at a Cary hotel. Sixteen people in all were inducted. Another was former U.S. Rep. Charles Taylor, who received a special award.

Saturday evening’s event also included a video presentation honoring the late Jack Hawke, a former party chairman and consultant to many successful Republican candidates, including Gov. Pat McCrory. McCrory appeared in the video. Hawke died in 2013 at age 72.
