EMPIRE, Colo. (AP) - The company that owns the Henderson Mine and Henderson Mill near Empire plans to lay off more than 200 people next year.
According to the Denver Post (https://tinyurl.com/pcgscsx), Freeport-McMoRan Inc. notified the state of its plans in a notice to the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment.
Company officials say production of molybdenum (muh-LIB’-de-nem) at the mine is expected to fall due to drops in price and demand.
