SOUTH ROYALTON, Vt. (AP) - Vermont’s only law school has launched a New Economy Law Center to study transforming the economy with a focus on the environment and narrowing the wealth gap.
The Vermont Law School in South Royalton says the center will focus on law and policy for a new economy, highlighting ecological integrity, vibrant democracy and social justice.
Center co-founder Gus Speth, a former dean of the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies, says the current economy is misaligned to meet global imperatives to reduce greenhouse gases and share wealth more equitably.
