NEW TOWN, N.D. (AP) - A crash on state Highway 23 in McKenzie County involving a pickup truck and a semitrailer killed a New Town male.

The Highway Patrol says the male was following the semi in his pickup, and failed to yield when the semi slowed to make a turn shortly after 9:30 p.m. Sunday.

The pickup struck the semi and the driver was ejected. He died at the scene, about 3 miles west of the Four Bears Bridge. Authorities did not immediate identify him or say how old he was.

The two people in the semi were not hurt.
