ALPINE, N.J. (AP) - A former vice principal who admitted selling crystal meth has died after police say he jumped more than 300 feet from the Palisades cliffs.

Palisades Interstate Parkway police recovered the body of 35-year-old John Norton of Palisades Park near State Line Lookout in Alpine on Sunday.

NJ.com (https://bit.ly/1PJz4QS ) reports Norton resigned as vice principal of the Elizabeth Avenue School in Franklin in late 2013 after he was arrested for selling crystal meth out of his home.

Norton was sentenced in March 2014 to spend five years in Somerset County’s drug court program, which includes regular court appearances, treatment and random drug testing.
