LAKE GEORGE, N.Y. (AP) - A 50-year-old upstate New York man has been charged with criminally negligent homicide after running over a neighbor in a driveway.

Police say Brian Deso of Lake George drove over 38-year-old Christopher Eddy after a confrontation Friday morning. Eddy was pronounced dead at Glens Falls Hospital.

The Post-Star of Glens Falls reports (https://bit.ly/1QDBGjh ) that Deso told police it was not intentional. The paper says that during arraignment Warren County Assistant District Attorney Travis Brown said Deso accelerated toward Eddy before Eddy got on the car.

Deso admitted that was what happened. He said he accelerated to try to dislodge Eddy from the hood, and Eddy fell off and was run over.

Deso is being held at Warren County Jail.

It could not immediately be determined if he has a lawyer.
