BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - A North Dakota man with a lifetime sex-offender registration requirement has been found guilty of gross sexual imposition.
The Bismarck Tribune (https://bit.ly/1NbPQWx ) reports 31-year-old Jon Torey Nesheim faces up to 20 years in prison after a South Central District Court jury returned the guilty verdict.
Authorities accuse the Palermo man of raping a woman he met in November of last year through a dating website. Authorities say the woman rejected Nesheim’s sexual advances, but she later woke up to him raping her.
Authorities consider Nesheim a high-risk sex offender. He has been required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life due to convictions in 1999 and 2003 out of Mountrail County.
Nesheim’s attorney didn’t immediately return a call from The Associated Press seeking comment Tuesday.
