VINELAND, N.J. (AP) - Police say the man behind the wheel of a pickup truck involved in a deadly collision last week in southern New Jersey was driving drunk.

Vineland police say 23-year-old Fernando Cruz-Ruiz has been charged with vehicular homicide, DUI and related offenses.

Authorities say Cruz-Ruiz’s truck collided with a pickup driven by 33-year-old Christian Mayen-Huerta on Thursday night. Mayen-Huerta was pronounced dead at the scene.

Cruz-Ruiz is being held at the Cumberland County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail. It’s unclear if he has an attorney who could comment on the charges.
